Windows 7 Mobile Development Initial Thoughts

It has been a while since I had written an application for a device (last one was for Pocket PC  OS in C++).  I had a little bit of time over the break to check out the windows mobile 7 development tools.   My initial thoughts are SWEET, and COOL.  It was nice to see a very familiar development  enviornment(Visual Studio 2010, Express Blend, C#, XAML).   I was able to download the tools and create a sample application in under 2 hours.

If you have a couple hours to spare download the tools and write a quick app. I think you will have fun with it.

VS Tip And Tricks Tip#2 (Pasting)

Have you ever copied a line of code and went to paste it but accidentally hit CTRL+C again and it copied blank text, then you just lost what you copied.  Prevent this by going to

TOOLS > OPTIONS >  TEXT EDITOR> ALL LANG > Uncheck – Apply cut or copy commands to blank lines.

Cheers!

VS Tips and Tricks Tip#1 (Pasting)

If your like me, you do a lot of copy & pasting in Visual Studio.  I always hated having to recopy stuff because you copied something new to the clip board.  Well Try this.

Hold down Ctrl+Shift while repeatedly pushing the V key.  This will cycle though your clip board until you find a past snippit you would like to paste.

Cheer!
